Happy 1st Birthday Alex and Alana!!
We had a fabulous dinner tonight at the mexican restaurant to celebrate the special day for the babies, umm i mean toddlers! I forgot my camera, but i know that their parents got plenty of pictures that I am sure will be on their blog soon. We will be celebrating at their party on Saturday and we are very much looking forward to it!!
Also tonight i took a video of Harlan going to bed. Putting him to bed is seriously one of the joys of my day. He makes it super easy and melts you heart when he says "i love chu" before bed. (warning, this video is shaky, i dont claim to be a pro here, but nothing could take away the cuteness of this amazing child!!)

We're painting.....
little by little. Daddy is only letting us do one room at a time (probably the smart way to go). And we are not taking this lightly. We have been logging hours of HGTV here (even Daddy) discovering what we like, and what we could never live with, and we are figuring it out. Well kinda..... this is what you get when you look at paint samples and they all blend together. You end up with $30 worth of paint testers and lots of little cheap paint brushes in order to smear some colors on a wall. We are focusing first on the master bedroom because we found an awesome comforter set at the JCP home store the other day and with the help of some giftcards we were even able to score some fun decorative pillows...(I'm sure you all would have loved the conversation with my husband about the need for decorative pillows, that you actually take off the bed while you sleep, as well as, his statement up front, before anything was purchased that he would NOT be making the bed on a daily basis. so a deal was struck that only when we knew people were coming over would he indeed need to make the bed.....but i'm way off topic now) Here is proof to the absolute mess I made trying to figure this out
First here are some of the maybe colors with the bedding that we have chosen..... see FUN decorative pillow...totally cool right?

Anyway, if you are wondering this is the third color from the left in the above pictures. It is the most bronze of the choices and is called Hat Box Brown (which i read in the store as Hot Box Brown, which really made us wonder) Cant wait to share pictures when all the painting is done!
Oh and this is not $30 worth of testers here, I also picked out some maybe colors for some of the downstairs rooms, but we are only doing this one room at a time so i will have to wait and share those colors with you at another time.

Snow Day
Last Monday we got hit with another round of heavy snow. This has been a very snowy winter for us, and while I cant quote inches for you off the top of my head, I know that its been a lot more than we have seen in awhile. But i have to tell you, it looks gorgeous from our house. The views that we have had out of our windows this week have been breathtaking and they are one of the many perks that has come from buying this house. I think you might agree!

We are super thankful for the hardwork that the guys put in the week helping us get out of our driveway. Harlan and I enjoyed watching them pulling the cars out of the snow, and we were very happy we didnt have to go out there too!

Laughter is the best medicine
It's been a little while since our last blog. It been a rough couple of weeks but we are dealing with it well. Daddy and Mommy have spent the last week taking incredible joy in the child that we have. We did suffer the loss of a miscarriage last week, and though we are sad about the loss, I think we are doing a good job of looking toward the future. We have been given the go ahead to try again and we will be doing just that. It is unclear at this point if we will seek the help of Dr Jarrett (the fertility guy) again or not, but we will keep you updated on our journey to make little man a big brother.
But lets back up a little bit. Our last post was about little man coming home from the hospital....and he has never looked back. He has continued to heal, and is now completely off of all the medications. He laughs, he smiles, he gives kisses, and he eats lots of cookies. In fact, he could give cookie monster a run for his money.
After we came home for the hospital, we got together with the other recovering babies in our family and cheered out Colts on to an almost victory over the Saints. We do have to tip our hats to the Saints though, they played one heck of a game, and there is always next year.
Mommy and Harlan made some cookies for the big game, and well of course, you have to eat some cookie dough! Little man didnt like touching the cookie dough with his fingers so...
We have lots of fun times planned ahead too. Gigi and Libby are planning to come and stay a few days at our house over Libbys spring break and we are super excited for this. We are also planning to take a trip to Florida in June to attend Mommys betest friends wedding to a super guy. We are also going to Nashville in July to see some very special friends. And we plan to share all of our adventures here on the blog.

Home...
from spending one night in the hospital. We are thankful to be home and even more grateful that it is with a much improved little man. I think those heavy duty antibiotics helped alot. And we have been fever free for 12 hours! Harlan is taking an antibiotic for the next 10 days and then we will head back to the doctor to make sure he is recovering well. He still has a lingering cough and runny nose which we are still managing with his inhaler and a couple meds. We are also helping his ears feel better with drops and tylenol/motrin. He still gets a little worn out when playing but is playing with much more energy than we have seen in a few days. And today when after we got home he played for awhile then found a place to recuperate....check it out

Really Sucky Virus
Well that is what RSV should stand for.
The good news is that we will not let this virus get us down. Harlan ate a little food for lunch today after 4 days of not eating. And although we again woke up with 102.2 fever at 4:30 this morning, he does seem to be doing better today. He is still coughing alot, but the albuterol inhaler and cough medicine seems to be helping. I am hoping that by the time I go to work Thurs afternoon, little man will be fever free and eating and drinking well. He already seems to be better than he wis even last night and at 4 am, so we are hoping that he is on the mend. We are also very thankful that Alex and Alana seem to be on the mend as well.
In the meantime we will be learning the words to Madagascar 2 by heart, because this move has the "boobra" aka zebra
