Hermie and Baby, and Hermie and Baby

 

We have four new family members.  They like to hide in shells, and are fairly easy to care for.  Harlan was very creative in naming them.  2 are named Hermie and 2 are named Baby.  Makes it easy enough for me, cause I can’t really tell ‘em apart.  After some research (on you tube), we made a visit to the pet store and purchased a new terrarium and made it homey.

This is the cage that we purchased in Myrtle Beach.  It will make a great “back up” cage for when we clean their new home, but the 4 of them needed more room.

Harlan with the new hermit crab haven.  There are places for them to hide and sleep; and also for them to climb and get exercise.  We even witnessed two of the crabs climb underneath the log from the top.  They really are great climbers and really fun to watch!

If you look closely you can see one of the crabs crawling through the green sand.  This one seems to be our most outgoing and active guy,

The other three guys like to hang out in the Hermie Hut and at times we will find all four little dudes squished in the hut!

RIP Camera

Harlan destroyed Mommy’s camera.  So we are in the hunt for a new one. Sooooo no new fun pictures in this blog but we hope to be back in business soon.  We do have all kind of changes going on now.  The biggest being that Harlan is starting a new daycare/preschool later this month.  We are very excited about this opportunity for him to learn and grow in this new environment. 

Gonna keep this post short and sweet, Mommy duty calls, but will be back with pictures soon!

Happy Birthday Gigi!!!!!

Wednesday night we got the amazing opportunity to head to the Cheesecake Factory and have dinner with Mommy’s family to celebrate Gigi’s birthday.  The food was yummy and the laughs kept coming.  Harlan sang happy birthday to Gigi and shared in some yummy cheesecake!

Great Wolfe Lodge (aka the big swimming pool)

We had an amazing opportunity over the weekend to spend some quality family time at Great Wolfe Lodge.  I think it was a great getaway for out little family of 3, and Harlan got all the Mommy and Daddy attention for 3 whole days!  We definitely will be making a return trip….someday. (and Harlan is already telling us we have to go back to the “big swimming pool another day!”

Snow Day!

 

Well it is snowing here….A LOT!  I would say we have had approx. 5 inches and its still coming down.  We cancelled all plans for today and spent the snow day safely at home.  So what does a curious little man do when stuck in the house all day????

Well the first step to keep busy on a snow day is to pull all the pots and pans out of the cabinets and make as much noise as possible. Maybe all those music classes we took in the fall are paying off??

Take notes.  The pan hat is going to be the next big thing!!

Step #2  Figure out how to open the humidifier and then toss as many toys as you can in the water until Mommy catches on!

Step #3  Destroy the dining room/toy room while attempting to harness those creative ideas into a beautiful chalk drawing!

And the final step, look amazingly cute despite the snotty nose and new haircut (which Mommy is trying to get used to) while showing off your “happy face”

And who can complain about having this view (about 2-3 inches around 1pm), even if it was a snowy day?

The New Blog

Mommy came home form work tonight and learned that Daddy found a cool new product called Windows Live Writer, that makes it so much easier to post pretty blogs.  So I am trying it out tonight.  Thank you soooo much Daddy!!!!
