happy first birthday harlan

We are officially the parents of a 1 year old. This past year has gone by sooo quickly. The offical first birthday party is not until Saturday. But we did have some fun today to acknowledge our baby boys special day.
Last night after little man went to bed, we put together his birthday present from Mommy and Daddy. We got him the laugh and learn kitchen. He seemed to like it, esp the frying pan, which he scooted around on the floor like a car. After that we gave him a birthday cookie for breakfast as a special treat. It was very funny watching him try his cookie.
For lunch we went to the mexican restaurant and then we headed down to the camp to check out all the new things going on down there. It looks great there, and we are looking forward to spending some fun summer days there.
Finally we ended the day with a family dinner at.....the mexican restaurant haha (Daddy really likes eating there, and there arent a ton of choices here in North Vernon)

we are looking foreward to his party on Saturday!!!!!!!!!

belated mothers day post

Taking advantage of nap time to attempt to post some very belated pictures from mothers day. We spent the day before having lunch with aunt lissa, aunt libby, uncle laryn and gigi. not only were we celebrating mothers day, but it was also my baby bro's birthday on mothers day. We had a wonderful time. It isnt very often that the whole family can get together bc one preson is usually missing due to work (noone in our family works the traditional 8-5 job)

We spent mothers day with gma watts and family and had a wonderful time with family as well. somehow mommys camera didnt make it to that celebration, so no pictures there, but it was a very fun, memorable day!

In other news, harlan is walking. He is taking several steps from one person to another and today i watched him take 4 steps from the couch to his little cars couch, without falling. He just started this tuesday and came back from gigi's house a pro. i dont think it will take him long to get his courage up and really be walking everywhere.

He also has his 5th tooth (top tooth to the left of his two front teeth) and this morning after eating, I said all done and harlan looked at me and said "all done" right back to me. i will have to ask gigi if she taught harlan this. mommy and daddy were impressed with his new words.

Tomorrow little man will be one!!!! one!!! we ran out of formula yesterday and have no plans to buy any more. harlan has impressed me with his eating and was able to takea nap today without a bottle, although i still rocked him to sleep. he is changing sooo much.

Catching up on pictures. Harlan is 100% time consuming and 100% fun. He will put just about anything in his mouth, except the food i want him to eat. he has the funniest laugh in the world. he plays peek-a-boo with himself in the mirror in his room. he likes to turn on and off the tv. he still gives the best kisses ever. he says ball and knows what it means. he loves to play in water. he shares yogurt with me in the mornings. he wants to be with daddy the second he gets home from work. he wants to be with mommy when he falls or hurts himself in some way. he sleeps on his knees with his bottom in the air. he loves to play with clean laundry. he says no. he has a BIG personality. he is fun to hang out with. he can stand for a few seconds on his own, but when he realizes that he isnt hanging on to anything, he drops to his bottom. you cant have a bad day when he is around. he is our everything.
