Getting back to normal

Things around here have been a mixed up since we have been under the weather. Things are starting to seem to be getting back to normal somewhat now. Today was the first day in a week that Harlan ate any kind of baby food and it took alot of time and coaxing. It was almost like he had forgotten all about it and it took a good 15 mins of feeding him before I got him to quit turning his head away when I offered him the spoon. I hope I am not jinxing it BUT we have also had 2 good nights of decent sleep outta the little guy *crosses fingers* He hasn't even slept in bed with Mommy and Daddy the last two nights.

He still is way fussier than normal. He seems to get frusturated alot easier and when he isnt into something, he tolerates it for shorter amounts of time. There have been many times in the last few days, that I have put him somewhere to play (crib, floor, walker, jumper) and walked away to do something. All seemed fine and happy when i walk away but I am soon back in the room, summoned by pitiful cries from a frusturated baby.

We are seeing greater periods of time of our happy little man though, so he is starting to feel better. He still remains a morning baby for sure, and still seems the crankiest at night at when he is tired but doesnt want to give into sleep.

His formula intake has improved greatly (he wasnt eating very well at all while sick) and hopefully we will get back into the habit of baby food as well. I dont think that it helped that the week we all got sick was the week Mommy's work schedule was whacky and the week Daddy worked every hour of every day (well it felt like he did anyway)

The last 10 days have been tiring and exhausting for Mommy and Daddy and I think we are both looking for a day that we can sleep in. I have noticed that when he cries in the morning we are both slower to get up and get him, silently hoping that the other one will get up and take care of it. Harlan and Mommy have to say a big THANK YOU to Daddy, who has been working long hours and comes home and helps Mommy out without complaining. He gives Harlan his baths most nights when he is home at bath time. Mommy appreciates it sooooo much.

We now get ready to get back in the flow of a regular week and hope that we all kinda feel a little better!

Mommy finally got around to putting the bumpers up on Harlan's bed today. We will see if they help tonite. Harlan was very happy about meeting his new friends! He "talked" away to all the animals

Never wake a sleeping baby. Let 'em finish the nap, even in the carseat!!

by the way: No more gerber puffs til further notice after Harlan about hacked up a lung coughing one up. i dont think it is possible to choke on them , because they melt, but after that i am taking no chances. i think it was just an unfamiliar feeling at the back of his throat that made him cough. he can continue to snack on his fingers for now. i am a meanie mommy, i know

Saying prayers the good sleep nights continue for Mr Harlan.

Good to know about the Gerber puffs... I was actually thinking about getting them soon for Sasha. Scary!
