Quick Update

Our new rountine isnt going so well. Mommy worked the last 2 nights and the report from daddy was that it was a challenge to get Harlan to bed without his beloved bottle. Daddy then told Mommy he did some research and that it may be too early to wean from the bottle at 14 months and that it is awesome that he is already just on one bottle at night. So it is back to the bottle. We did pick up a few simple plastic bottles at walmart tonight so that we could try those instead of the Dr Browns bottles that are a pain to wash. (but are great for the gassy days in the beginning)

In other sad news, Mommys camera is broken. The screen got cracked and broken and no longer works. But no worries, Mommy found a new camera that she liked tonight (that just happens to be waterproof and durable) and the battery is currently charging so we will be back to taking fun pictures and movies tomorrow.
Daddy was all for the durable camera as this will be the fourth camera for Mommy since she got pregnant with little man. Mommy is tough on cameras, but it is well worth it for all the memories we are capturing.

Keep checking for updates with pictures!

New Routine

Mommy had a brilliant idea today while she was washing bottles...AGAIN. Lets change our routine at night so that we take the bottle out of the equation. So tonight we tried a sippy cup with milk and a book at bedtime. It was not well recieved. The sippy cup was pushed away and every attempt was made to try and slide of mama's lap. When it became clear there was no other choice, little man settled in and enjoyed a nice story about Itsy Bitsy the spider. Apparently, there is alot more to the story of going up the water spout. He was just trying to get home! Poor Itsy
Harlan then had a little cry and settled in for sleep. Although it didnt go super smoothly, we will try again and see if we can turn this into our new rountine (so mommy doesnt have to wash bottles anymore!)

In other news, we took an outing today unlike any other. Nana Judy, Aunt Janet, Mommy, Little man and the twinfants (alex and alana) went out for shopping and lunch. First of all, Nana wins the prize for the most creative way to fit 3 car seats, 3 adults and a super stroller in one expedition. It was amazing. We had a fabulous day. I think we drew some attention everywhere we went (well the babies and harlan did), but it was happy attention and it was fun to show everyone off. Thank you Nana and Janet for the very fun and tiring day. WE are up for it anytime and are looking foreward to many more mini roadtrips!!!

Here is a picture of Harlan with another new skill that he is practicing. He actually seems to enjoy this....lets hope that stays with him.

Harlan and Mommys Roadtrip

I would be lying if i said i wasnt nervous about a 5 hour trip by myself with little man. Turns out my worry was for nothing, he did fabulously. On the way to my dads house, Harlan stayed awake the first few hours of the trip. This way the first time his carseat was forward facing in Mommy's car and I think he liked being able to see out the front window and to see Mommy. Around 830, Mommy stopped, got Harlan in his jammies, gave him a bottle with some milk, and got back on the road. After an hour or so, he pulled his blanket up over him and drifted off to sleep. He looked so sweet like that. (Dont worry this picture was taken while I was stuck at a dead stop in construction!)

When little man wasnt busy meeting new people, he spent time playing with an old phone that wasnt working. We werent sure who he was calling but he sure had alot to say! Here is Harlan with the very popular step stool. This step stool cause quite a smackdown between a little man and a slightly older cousin later in the evening. Harlan has taken to posing for pictures when he is in a goos mood. This one says "you still think i am cute right??" This was a very competetive games of football between dad and some of the kids. Harlan is trying to "hike" his shoe through his legs but fell over in the process. He now sometimes walks around yelling "hu, hu, hu, hiiiikeeee" loudly throughout the house. This was harlan attempting to give Brooklyn a hug, but ended up tackling her instead. More football fun

Me, Harlan, my dad, and my sister jennifer

Saying goodbye is sooo hard

He was getting tired and overwhelmed by the end of the trip, and wanted Mommy alot. We really missed Daddy too, bc he could have helped mommy with the clingyness. Mommy didnt mind it (i secretly love it when harlan wants his mommy) but it is very exhausting. I do have to say that on Saturday, little man got very little nap time and met a ton of new ppl, and did superb. HE had his moments, but I was so proud how he handled it all!

This was one of those moments

At breakfast sunday morning. Harlan and Aunt Jennifer

Your so funny!!!

He slept for the first 3 hours of the trip home, using Monkey as a snuggle bunny
Then woke up and had some goldfish and juice as a snack, and judging from the goldfish currently all over my backseat, he had more fun throwing them than he did eating them
Mommy, i am having so much fun on our road trip.

These are videos of Harlan and Bruno the Beast (my sis's dog), who was actually a very sweet dog with tons of energy!

Kings Island

We had a fantabulous day at Kings Island yesterday. It rained..alot. But it made the day that much more interesting. Harlan slowly warmed up to the water park and even got to ride a couple rides. My favorite moment of the day....we were walking through the water park and Harlan was walking holding Mommy's hand. There was music playing in the air, as there always is at these places, and all of a sudden, Harlan let go of my hand and busted a move. He was a dancing fool. It was like he heard the music and it just inspired him to move! Loved it!!

Mommy and Harlan made it to the park before everyone else so we had some time to kill in the parking lot. Harlan spent it turning every knob and button in Mommy's car.

And playing with Mommys work badge...that is always a favorite for him.

Harlan in Gigi's glasses. Too cool for you.

Seeking shelter from the rain,

and sharing my shelter with aunt lissa!

Laryn, Lissa, and Libby walking through the waterpark

In the water park they have a wave simulator, and you can try surfing. We spent alot of time at this attraction as my sister and brother were trying to perfect their techniques. Mommy did attempt the "kiddie" wave once. There are no pics (thank god) and will never be spoken of agian, it was that bad haha
Can you see her?? this is aunt lissa (i think, could be libby?) bustin a wave

Harlan and Gigi watching the action

Aunt lissa practicing on the "baby waves"

Libby after riding a wave

This picture is funny. The stranger there is a guy that works at the water park and i guess spends his days off surfing at the park. He was apparently giving Libby some surfing advice, and as they were talking, Gigi and I noted libby checking him out, with a look up and down him. and look at Big brother Laryn, not looking happy about the situation!

Harlan looking and dreaming of the day he too can try out the waves.

Here goes Libby again

Go Libby Go

Uncle Laryn wiped out

Trying to save face after his wipeout....he got much better as the day went on

Harlan in the life jacket they required of him in the wave pool. doesnt he look thrilled??

Where did the water go? (see videos of this in the next post)

Gonna get you water

Waitng in line to ride the helicopters

fun videos

Harlan talking on the phone to his dada. *disclaimer* please ignore justins insensitive comment on the phone (and if you dont catch it, all the better,) its just his sarcastic sense of humor sense of humor.(which can be inappropriate, esp on bubs blog, but i wasnt gonna let his comment ruin a great video)

Libby took this video in the backseat of the car. When she showed it to me, i could not stop laughing!
