If you hear hooves........

Harlan sleeps like his mama. All over the bed. There are times we find him all up in the corner of his crib or stretched out on his back. Tonight about an hour after putting him to bed, Mommy walked through the bedroom and somehow managed to wake him. I had noticed when I went in that he wasnt sleeping as soundly as he normally does bc he was tossing about. When he awoke he was really upset to the point of not being easily soothed. We discussed that maybe a second tooth is coming and gave him some motrin and oragel. This just really upset him further. So i walked with him and talked to him like I did back in the gassy days in the first few months. Next thing I know, I have a warm wet spot on my shirt. Warm enough that I knew that the puddle was fresh and could not have been the reason for the crying. Upon lying him down and taking his jammies off I noticed 2 huge bright red circles on both of his knees. I also then saw a bright red spot on his forehead on the left side and one of his hands was angry red too. I showed them to Justin and we figured out that the poor kid must have been lying in some 3 point formation with his butt in the air, and probably woke up crying cause he was uncomfortable and those red spots probably were sore. I had a teacher in nursing school once tell me, " if you hear hooves, think horses not zebras" pretty much saying, dont overthink it and make something harder than it is. Well in this case I would have to say, there was definitely a zebra in Harlan's crib tonite!
