update

just a quick update. we have a sick little guy on our hands. he has woken up with fever the last 5 days. we took him to the doctor yesterday and all looks good. the doctor thinks it could be his molars coming in, making him miserable and Mommy thinks it could be a virus to. we did have a little diarrhea in the bathtub today which makes me think it could be a virus. the good news is that as the day goes on, little man seems to feel better, so the mornings seem to be the hardest part of the day.

we did make it out to gigis house yesterday for a cookout with aunt lissa, aunt libby and gigi. harlan seemed to feel better and had alot of fun playing with the doggies and kit kats and he calls them. i did take my camera but it unfortunately stayed in the diaper bag so no pictures, but lots of fun was had.

oh and great news. we accepted an offer on our house. yay. the inspection will be on monday and hopefully it will all go smoothly.

so we are getting over are sick buggies and waiting for nana to get back from FL. oh nana how we have missed you and your oragel filled pockets!!!!

You might live in Indiana if......

* If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September through
May, you may live in Indiana.

* If someone in a Home Depot store offers you assistance and
they don't work there, you may live in Indiana.

* If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you may
live in Indiana.

* If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone
who dialed a wrong number, you may live in Indiana.

* If 'Vacation' means going anywhere south of Muncie for the
weekend, you may live in Indiana.

* If you measure distance in hours, you may live I n Indiana.

* If you know several people who have hit a deer more than
once, you may live in Indiana.

* If you have switched from 'heat' to 'A/C' in the
same day and back again, you may live in Indiana.

* If you can drive 75 mph through 2 feet of snow during a
raging blizzard without flinching, you may live in Indiana.

* If you install security lights on your house and garage, but
leave both unlocked, you may live in Indiana.

* If you carry jumpers in your car and your wife knows how to
use them, you may live in Indiana.

* If you design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a
snowsuit, you may live in Indiana.

* If the speed limit on the highway is 55 mph -- you're going
80 and everybody is passing you, you may live in Indiana.

* If driving is better in the winter because the potholes are
filled with snow, you may live in Indiana.

* If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still
winter and road construction, you may live in Indiana.

* If you have more miles on your snow blower than your car, you
may live in Indiana.

* If you find 10 degrees 'a little chilly', you may live in
Indiana.

(I am editing some Harlan videos that hopefully are going to up soon, but here is something to brighten your day for now)

Meaning

Yesteday morning you wanted to take a shower with me. We laughed, splashed,
and had a wonderful time. You were just exploring in the wonderment of the water, but you dont know what that meant to me

This morning as I heard you babbling to the new day, I walked in your room, flipped on the light and saw you standing there with the biggest smile ever. You were just ready to take on a new day, but you dont know what that meant to me.

Last night you took a big tumble and hit you head on the floor. Daddy was right by your side, scooped you up and gave you kisses to make it all better. You were just taking comfort in the arms of Daddy, but you dont know what that meant to me.

This morning you climbed on Mommy's lap, gave me a big kiss, then tried to shove a cracker in my mouth. You were just trying to share your snack, but you dont know what that meant to me

I cant wait to have a lifetime more of moments - ones that you wont understand what they mean to me.

15 month stats

Harlan had his 15 month check up today. He weighed in at 21 lbs and 12 oz and is 28 inches long. He is in about the 17% for weight and the 2% for length.(He was in the 1% at 12 months so this is an improvement:)) His head is in the 50th %, which explains why we need 18-24 month shirts to fit over his big head but can still get away with 12 month pants that fit him perfectly in the waist and in length. Which makes it very hard to buy an outfit that comes togather. We have to buy in pieces now or roll his pants up!

Mommy has always said that Harlan is very smart. Well today I got confirmation of this. Harlan was babbling away in the office and was saying baby and banana. Dr Montgomery was very impressed that Harlan was saying 2 and 3 syllable words. He said that the best predictor of future intelligence in babies is how soon they start saying these multi syllable words. I knew I was raising a genius!!

Teeth - Dr M said Harlan is getting his molars early but hasnt got some of his bottom front teeth so those are late. It isnt anything to be worried about though and he will get his teeth when they come.

Feet- Uncle T ntoiced Harlan was walking a little funny. He is kinda walking ont he side of his feet with his ankles kinda jutting out to the side. We asked Dr M about it and he had some big long medical term for it and said that most of the time it works itself out and that if it were more promounced at his 18 month visit then we might see a podiatrist, but he felt like it would likely correct itself.

Harlan got 4 shots today. He did get the chicken pox vaccine and the flu shot. He has to go back in one month to get the flu booster and Dr Montgomery thinks he should get the H1N1 vaccine at that time as well. Then he gets one more shot at his 18 month checkup then we are done with shots til kindergarten (except for the yearly flu shot) yay, that was great news. We are tired of those shots.

The plan for the rest of the day is tylenol and motrin and maybe playing outside if little man feels up to it. The weather today is beautiful and deffinitely more fall-like than summerish.

Dirt and other boy stuff down at the camp

Yesterday we spent some time down at the camp for some good company and some good food. Harlan got to get super dirty and act like a boy, perfect for him. Daddy caught a frog and showed it to Harlan who picked it up out of Daddys hand and threw him onto the ground. Poor frog. But he seemed ok and hopped back off to his little frog home. Harlan also got to see a snake, although that one was a no touch! We had beautiful weather and a great day! Little man also made it all day without a nap and in a pretty good mood, considering. He was super worn out when we got home though, and went right to sleep after bath and bottle.

Gpa took Harlan on his first Rhino ride. Harlan stayed in his seat and was very well behaved.

Next Harlan went on a ride with Mommy and Daddy. We went a little farther and longer on a ride. Harlan tried to nod off and fall asleep on the rhino on Daddys lap, but woke up when we got back to camp.
Look like a big boy riding on the rhino!
Taking a water break
The harlan squat. he is really good at this and has incredible balance. he was even walking around on his tippy toes every now and then. he has us all amazed
Pretty cousin Alana, who brought her brother, mommy, and daddy down to see us.

Fruit Salad...Yummy Yummy!

Today was the big day for the Wiggles show. Mommy and Daddy had been looking forward to this for awhile as a family outing and to let the little guy experience some live music. He was entranced by all the singing, dancing and children around him. There was a sweet 8 year old boy in the row in front of us that kept playing peek a boo with Harlan and then checking on him during the show to see if he was enjoying it. It was just a fabulous atmosphere. And Mommy and Daddy agreed that the show was pretty entertaining. The Wiggles have pretty funny personalities and made it fun. I think we will be taking in more live shows in the years to come. Here are some of our memories from the day! (and we somehow lost a shoe and 2 sippy cups in the theater??? dont ask ,because i'm not sure i have a good answer for that one!)

Harlan on the booster seat the theater provided. He did a good job sitting still on it for awhile!

Little man in his new Wiggles shirt. He looked so cute in it! Mommy and Harlan in our famous self portrait

Daddy and Harlan saying "yay for the Wiggles" they had some really cool acrobatics in the show and many talented performers on stage.

Lok how similar Daddy and Harlan's body and facial expressions are here. they are so much alike.

Daddy quote "we have the same smile" as evidenced here in this picture.

Leaning in closer for a better look

He really never got tired of watching all the action! After the show we had dinner with Mommy's friend Dawn and her man, Nathan. We loved hanging out with them, they are tons of fun!

Mommy and Daddy at dinner After dinner we made a stop at the cookie shop per daddys request. Little man loved the idea as well!

And the nice lady that worked there gave him a free chocolate chip cookie. yum yum

cant get enough of that cookie! "daddy can we have more??"

This first video may be a little hard to watch. It was my favorite part of the show. They turned down all the lights and sang "twinkle, twinkle, little star" and it was magical. It is hard to tell in the video but little man was so quiet during the song and just stared at all the stars floating around during the song. You can also see his light stick flashing in the dark. Enjoy, if you can bear to watch it.

This viseo is before the show started. Harlan was just taking it all in!
