15 month stats

Harlan had his 15 month check up today. He weighed in at 21 lbs and 12 oz and is 28 inches long. He is in about the 17% for weight and the 2% for length.(He was in the 1% at 12 months so this is an improvement:)) His head is in the 50th %, which explains why we need 18-24 month shirts to fit over his big head but can still get away with 12 month pants that fit him perfectly in the waist and in length. Which makes it very hard to buy an outfit that comes togather. We have to buy in pieces now or roll his pants up!

Mommy has always said that Harlan is very smart. Well today I got confirmation of this. Harlan was babbling away in the office and was saying baby and banana. Dr Montgomery was very impressed that Harlan was saying 2 and 3 syllable words. He said that the best predictor of future intelligence in babies is how soon they start saying these multi syllable words. I knew I was raising a genius!!

Teeth - Dr M said Harlan is getting his molars early but hasnt got some of his bottom front teeth so those are late. It isnt anything to be worried about though and he will get his teeth when they come.

Feet- Uncle T ntoiced Harlan was walking a little funny. He is kinda walking ont he side of his feet with his ankles kinda jutting out to the side. We asked Dr M about it and he had some big long medical term for it and said that most of the time it works itself out and that if it were more promounced at his 18 month visit then we might see a podiatrist, but he felt like it would likely correct itself.

Harlan got 4 shots today. He did get the chicken pox vaccine and the flu shot. He has to go back in one month to get the flu booster and Dr Montgomery thinks he should get the H1N1 vaccine at that time as well. Then he gets one more shot at his 18 month checkup then we are done with shots til kindergarten (except for the yearly flu shot) yay, that was great news. We are tired of those shots.

The plan for the rest of the day is tylenol and motrin and maybe playing outside if little man feels up to it. The weather today is beautiful and deffinitely more fall-like than summerish.
